There is no need to give any notice on either side in the first month of employment. After one month statutory minimum notice is one week for each complete year of continuous service up to a maximum of 12 weeks' notice after 12 or more years of continuous service. Your contract may give you more than statutory rights and if it does then your employer MUST honour your contract. Don't forget that 1 month is longer than 4 weeks!

If you have between 50 and 249 employees you need to be getting ready for auto enrolment - the staging dates are between 1 April 2014 and 1 April 2015

Small employers with less than 50 employees - staging dates between 1 June 2015 and 1 April 2017

If you do not comply with the rules the Regulator may issue a warning letter followed by a formal compliance notice. Financial penalties can be imposed starting from £400 and reaching up to £10,000 a day. Wilful failures may lead to criminal prosecution

We can provide all the documentation and forms required by employment legislation together with the training and support necessary to utilise this effectively. We also provide an extended service for customers who choose to take our retained service. We can provide advice and if necessary manage disciplinary hearings and conduct representation at Employment Tribunals.

RETAINED SERVICE

Phone Us

Our retained service offers companies an annual agreement and contract based on the number of employees your company has. There is a basic fee of £200 plus an additional sum for each employee based on the size of the workforce. This service includes our 24/7 telephone advice line where you will speak to a trained member of staff. We produce letters, disciplinary notices, and memos etc on your behalf to send to your employees and will, when necessary attend at your offices to assist with the disciplinary/capability procedures. You will get regular updates and information on new legislation. We offer a 5% minimum claims bonus (less than three calls a year) to those organisations that have not needed our services much in the preceding year. Those organisations that use us a lot will not be charged for all of the additional service but are likely to have a percentage increase in the annual fee for the following year.

Our Employment Law News will be emailed to you as part of the Retained Service and you will also receive a copy of our Training News that includes information and tips. The Employment Law News is only available to retained clients unless you wish to subscribe for £135 per year. From October 2012 all Retained clients will have a private log in access to the private part of GHA's website.

For a consultation and first interview, a trained member of our team will come and see you to assess your HR needs and what we can offer you to help you with your specific requirements.


SEMI-RETAINED SERVICE

If you have fewer than 4 employees this package is for you. This allows the company to have up to 4 hours telephone advice along with newsletters and updates at a basic fee of £350 per year.


RETAINED SECTION ON THE GHA WEBSITE

As part of our yearly Retained Agreement you will be able to access the Retained Section of our website that has all the latest information, current and archived newsletters, and our advice pages that go along with the Management Operations Manuals and Staff Handbooks. You will be given a personal login and password. This service is only available to those who take up the Retained Service.


PAY AS YOU GO

Pay As You Go

Our 'pay as you go' scheme is as simple as it sounds, you pay as you go. We can offer unlimited advice and help for all your needs and you will be invoiced after the work is completed or if you require a lot of time from the company then you simply 'pay as you go'.

This package works well for individual clients as well as other businesses that just need the added help from our friendly advisers. As noted before, employment law can cost a lot if not applied properly so our team are on hand to help with those difficult situations. VISITS

GHA offers a quarterly visit to your site to make sure procedures are in place and up to date and to advise you on any concerns that you may have. More frequent visits may be available to clients in Cornwall and Devon on request but the quarterly visits are open to anyone. Prices on application.

Visits can work both ways so if you would prefer to visit our offices then this can be arranged. If it is a full day or over a lunchtime then lunch will be provided for you. This can be designed around any dietary needs you may have.


SEARCHABLE CD ROM FOR INTRANET

If you have a Company intranet we can, in addition to the printed Staff Manual, offer you the opportunity to have the whole of your Staff Manual produced on CD for loading on to your intranet. The file contains links from the contents pages to each policy and further links to other important sections of the Handbook. The price for this service is an additional £95.00. If you already have a recent Staff Handbook from GHA then we can offer you this additional service for the same price.


MANAGEMENT OPERATION MANUALS

Management Operations Manuals

GHA produce Management Operation Manuals that are designed specifically for your company. These manuals are for the use of the management team. They have copies of all the policies and documents, Company rules, all the forms you will need and basic draft letters. The manuals will include what we call 'Greens'. These are pages of advice on how to execute the policies and use the forms. Along with these there will be a number of flow charts, tables and information to help you work through some of the procedures. GHA can also offer these in a variety of colours (Black, Red, Blue, Green and White) and styles to suit your business.


STAFF HANDBOOKS

Staff Handbooks

The staff handbook will include all the policies and procedures along with the Company rules. This will be a handbook that all the staff can access. You may have several sites, departments or areas that you would like these to be in. We can do as many duplicates as you would like. These will be charged individually. GHA can now offer you a choice of colour for your Staff Handbook folders. You can choose between black, white, red, pink, green, yellow, orange, purple, turquoise and blue which can tone with your logo.


NEWSLETTERS

We offer our retained and semi-retained clients monthly newsletters on Employment Law news and our Training News which covers the training side of the business. These newsletters are packed with advice, information about new legislation, hints and tips, and new services that we can provide our client companies. We can offer our 'pay as you go' clients our newsletters for a small yearly fee of £135. These can be sent to you either via email or in the post (or both if you prefer!)
